Please note, this is a Welsh Government funded full time vacancy. To be eligible to apply for this position you must be aged 16 -19 years of age, live in Wales, have evidence to live and work in the UK ( Proof of age, proof of address, National insurance letter/number and your own bank account). You must hold grades to be able to study at Foundation level i.e. L1 Essential skills in Application of number/Maths, Communication/English language, Digital literacy / ICT, or equivalent GCSE’s grades 3-1 / D-G as a minimum.

The role:
The Trainee Hospitality, Events & Social Media Co-ordinator role will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to develop a range of skills, from running and managing a café, planning and co-ordination of events and promotion and marketing skills.
You will be a key part of Lle Hapus, supporting the directors in ensuring the venue lives up to its name of ‘Happy Place’ — a safe and welcoming place for the local community to visit for our café and wide range of events and activities.

- Good literacy and numeracy skills
Responsible for :-
- Working alongside directors/trustees, café staff as a team, to ensure the smooth running of the café
- Supervise and manage the daily events, ensuring enjoyment and safety of customers. Events include craft groups, table tennis, music, bingo, book club, language exchange etc.
- Take responsibility of updating the calendar board of events and the venue blackboards / posters
- Support the production of events and share on social media, explore other means of advertising to engage the local community
- Monitoring stock within the café and re-ordering when necessary
- Able to work in a team and independently, as required
- Be aligned to GDPR protocols when using photographic content and dealing with customer data
General Duties:-
- Grinding and brewing coffee and preparing other drinks and light snacks
- Taking client orders and receiving payment
- Greeting customers as they arrive
- Keeping the café area clean
- Ensure events are aligned to the brand and strategy
- Be present and supportive at events when required
- Ensure everyone adheres to Health and Safety / Food Hygiene regulations
- Oversee post event activities, ensuring venue is returned back to standard
- Work with director to plan, create and deliver high quality engaging digital content for social media channels
- Co-manage the social media account
This role will require you to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events, but this will be taken into account in your working hours.
